The Gates of the Gutenberg Museum

A series of 12 posts, documenting my research into the 4 massive bronze panels that stand guard over the courtyard of the Gutenberg Museum.

Long story.

Here’s the summary:

Photographed one of the panels for MDP and asked at the museum if they knew something about their history or their creator.

No-one knew, no-one was interested in finding out, someone suggested I Google it….

Tracked down Karl-Heinz Krause, the artist, visited him (lovely man), found out the whole story (with one minor gap) and posted it as a series.

Told the museum about it.

Haven’t heard back.

This is Mainz…..

The series is here – start at #1160 and work forward.
