Old meets new – #1495

Fort Stahlberg,  a defensive tower built in the mid-19th century as part of the fortifications protecting Mainz from the marauding Huns …er …French and other sundry ratbags, has recently been converted into very flash  (as in “flash the cash“) Bauhaus-ish properties, retaining the original (what was left of them after the marauding French were finished…) structures and looking very nice indeed.

Talk about a gated community…..
