The Mussel Inn at  Onekaka in Golden Bay is a classic.

They brew beer from manuka (or tea tree).

When you visit, you’ll see mobile phones nailed to the veranda supports. (Probably best to set them to “silent”)

Saw them at Taste Nelson, an event in Founders Park celebrating of all the good stuff that the region produces.

As direct as ever.
