Prince Michael of Salm-Salm has the coolest castle in the middle of (NQM) Wallhausen.

He invited his customers to a wine tasting the other week and suggested to various local artisans that they might care to join in the fun as vassals and provide a jolly backdrop to his festivities.

A whole bunch turned up – a lady selling cake mixes in bottles (!), the usual smelly candle person, a potter, a garden centre, the classic asparagus/strawberry stand and a cheese person.

All standing round like spare whatsits at a wedding.

Seems that Prince Michael had neglected to do any advertising.

At all.

Which is understandable, because you probably wouldn’t want the local riffraff traipsing through the place, with the kids nicking suits of armour and stuff.

But jugglers, strolling minstrels and bear baiters might be the trick next year….
