Boehringer, the life science people in Ingelheim have supported this annual exhibition in the old town hall for 65 years..
They’re mostly focussed on a single artist (click on the image to enlarge) and – as this year – sometimes themed.
The new director (and she’s quite excellent) chose “Home Sweet Home” as the thread and were you think that that it could be very Norman Rockwell-ish, you couldn’t be more wrong.
This from the website:
In five themed rooms, this exhibition explores both the light and dark sides of the day-to-day activities, goings-on, and experiences that take place in the home – home as a place of privacy, family and safety, threats and violence, leisure and idleness, and work.
The exhibition offers a number of opportunities to explore the different subjects and motifs of a familiar theme, to discover or rediscover artists from different generations, and to learn about various techniques as an artistic means of expression.
So next time you buy Mirapex/Ofev/Mobic/Pradaxa/Spiriva/Trajenta/Twynsta/Viramune and go catatonic from sticker shock, just remember that you’re supporting the arts…
