Vikings – that’s what is says on the ship, anyway – heading back down the Rhine to the North Sea and all points north.
The bunch I saw drifting aimlessly around the market in Mainz the other day appear not to have wanted to front up some folding stuff for the tour and they appeared pretty much past it anyway
Or they might have been slaves that were captured in Vinland, sent out to buy provisions for the crew while the latter were out doing what Vikings do.
Probably were, in fact.
Lack of horned helmets and tunics from wild animal skins was a dead give-away.
Lots of polyester and caps with funny names (Lakers, Bruins, Celtics)
But the helmeted blokes appear to look after them very well – not a skinny person in sight…
I keep wondering why they still allow the Minnesota Vikings to keep that name.
