We have 3 tree peonies in the garden – a double purple, this single yellow and one of unknown form and colour.
Someone pruned it back a few years ago (RTFM – no, it wasn’t me for a change) at which it appears to have taken offense.
Not flowering, for example.
But this chappy more than makes up for it.
>It is a very beautiful photography, congratulations
>Beautiful photo. I tried to post earlier and couldn’t but seems to be working fine now.
>Odd enough. Cutting off foilage is one way to eventually kill tulips and probably peonies. The bulb in the ground or the root in the ground (in the case of peonies) must grow to build up reserves for the next year. If the foilage is cut off then the next year it will be less of a plant and continued cutting will result in the plant being starved to death. I am not sure that is what happened to your other peony but this one is quite attractive. I only have one old one that hs been transplanted several times. It is a double pink and quite attractive but not yet ready to bloom. Soon though.
