“MKOP” is the name of a restaurant in Albany, just north of Auckland in New Zealand.
Stands for My Kind Of Place”.
Which it definitely isn’t – the only thing they get vaguely right is the beer, and that’s not enough for an $80 check.
But this place – Villa Vinum in the Grosse Bleiche in Mainz – definitely is.
They’ve got good (and interesting) wines, pasta, olive oil, tapenades, glasses, single malt whiskies, a cafe and nice people.
I could spend all day just looking.
And tasting, of course.
>I am not too sure about the wheeled vehicles on the sand dunes. You can’t get to them from the Kurnell Rd any more – fenced off (ugly, ugly). The kids go thru the carpark and walk up to them when they go for arun. Further along the beach, at Boat harbour, 4wheel drives have access to the beach. I’d be surprised if some of those don’t rip up the dunes.
