This is Dottie, the most famous chook in Mainz.
(“Dottie”‘s short for “Dotter” – “yolk” in German)
Attracts kids of all ages, but I was fascinated by the conversation I overheard on Saturday.
Small boy: “Dad, I want an egg”
Dad (professional-looking type, absolutely blindsided by the request and wondering whether this really was his son):
“An EGG?? Why on earth do you want an EGG for? At this very moment..?”
Looking around all the time to make sure no-one had listened in to this utterly embarrassing conversation.
