Not only do we have to endure another 4 weeks of mistletoe, the stench of cheap glühwein and Father Christmas “Ho, ho, ho”ing everywhere you look, but there’s the MUSIC as well.
I wouldn’t mind if it was Springsteen’s “Santa Claus is coming to town” or “A Christmas Gift for You” from Phil Spector.
It’s not.
It’s Muzak of the direst kind.
Good thing I’m aurally challenged, then.
Mind you, Saint Bob’s “Christmas in the heart” might be worth a spin.
It’s for a good cause, anyway….
>Funny I was in a store today and thought, 'It's Nov. 30 and I'm already sick of these damn songs" . I can remember way back when you finally heard Christmas songs in stores and on the radio it really put you in the spirit. Now it puts me in the spirits. Bah humbug.VPS I had vin chaud in Paris on the Champs- Élysées last November and was enamored. Oh well I was just flat out enamored. Guess that wine had not a thing to do with it.
>But, it certainly can be endured if you can visit shops like this one, loaded with good books. At least I hope that they're good books! Have a good week, JB. Read a good book!
