Not that I have the reputation of being a fashion guru or anything, but this place is cool.
Modern design with traditional Thai iconic elements in handwoven cotton and silk.
I’m supposed to have discovered it, which is probably a ploy to keep me quiet.
But we’ve been going to the place for eons and over time we’ve got to know the owner, Panida Rintanalert, fairly well.
Plus her niece Yin and nephew Yihn whom she’s both put through university in Australia and who now run the shop.
So it was good seeing Yin the other day and the whole family’s so nice, I thought I’d go in for some blatant commercial promotion.
Just around the corner from the Oriental and and easy walk from the Saphan Taksin Skytrain station.
And not expensive.
I like “not expensive”

Postscript:
Surprise, surprise – we just bumped in Yin in the lobby at the hotel as she was delivering a (not expensive) blouse after alteration.

And we got to meet Mum and Dad, and – given that they don’t speak English – I got Yin to tell that that we think that she”s quite wonderful.

Embarrassment and beams all round.

Oh, and Dad does speak English.

“Thank you” he said proudly.

  1. >Well, are you going to show us the people and some of the wares too, I hope! A loyal patron/customer is always a treasure; you must be a treasure?!
