In real life, Martin Kijaszek is a graphic designer. Runs his own advertising agency.
The rest of the time, he’s Billy Crash, troubador extraordinaire, singing blues in the local dialect.
I first bumped into him at one of the local wine hoolies, singing non-rhyming couplets such as “Es muss Woi soi, der ist gut für doi Blut” -“It’s gotta be wine – it’s good for yer blood”
Then at the “Die Wäschbrigg“
Then we sat next to each other at a Dr John concert, queued up together for Willy Deville, got chatting and got press tickets (Hen’s teeth? Not even close) for the cult Eurovision Song contest parody that he runs under the “Radio Free Stadecken” flg.
This was a gig in Bodenheim at a school reunion at Adam Weber‘s winebar.
Hard work. I think we were the only folk listening.
The rest of them were all lying through their teeth and spouting ” But you haven’t changed a bit…”
