Having been behaving myself (by my standards anyway) recently, I got taken out for dinner to the Goldenen Engel in Flonheim the other night.
Small restaurant in a renovated house on the market square, exposed stone walls and beams, perfectly lit, choose from 4-5 starters, 4-5 mains, 3-4 desserts, cheese, big wine list from (mostly) local vineyards, 10-12 open wines.
Team of 2 – Klaus Meyer cooks local ingredients with flair and Sabine Lenner delivers with confidence, charm and the utmost professionalism.
I’m accused by some of being difficult to please, but this place is stunning.
