Rocked on over to The Fat Tui at Marahau the other week with Steve and Robin Fullmer.
(Steve asks “Now, do you want to go the inneresting way or the inneresting way?”, the latter involving heading off in the wrong direction and making a significant (but inneresting….) detour.
The Fat Tui is a caravan that serves burgers and fish and chips in the middle of a car park.
Now, I don’t tend to go overboard about stuff like that, but they are AWESOME.
Nice folks running it to whom the concept of stress is utterly foreign.
I asked them what the longest wait’s ever been. (Ours was a good 20 minutes and the place was DEAD.)
“Oh” said the boss ” About 2 hours was the max this year”
His co-worker – busy building burgers – turned round and said ” No, closer to 2 and a half. We told them to go and have a sleep or a swim and come back”
Off we toddled to the car and a picnic spot where we could drink alcohol, get all settled in right next to Tasman Bay and Steve says:
“Robin, why can’t we have a table with a view?”
