The local city monthly “Der Mainzer” runs a monthly photo competition sponsored by Saturn, a big box consumer electronics outfit.

Did quite well a couple of years back with this photo and I think we might be in with a chance with this one.

This month’s  theme is “My favourite crane”, Mainz being the home of one of Germany’s major heavy-lifting outfits and the darn things positively SPROUTING up all over, what with all the building going on.

This is a disused heritage crane in the Zollhafen reflected in the basin.

Quite like it, actually.

A bit too arty-farty for the €100 prize, but it could slip in for €10…..
