Sicilian ginger

IMG_6718

Decades ago in a small restaurant in Albufeira, I asked the waiter what the herb was that I didn’t recognise in the dish.

“Oh” he said  “that’s Portuguese parsley”

I later found out that it was coriander.

The people who run the stand on the market appear to be similarly clueless…..

Hint: they’re tobinabour or Jerusalem artichokes
