Summer in the city
back of my neck gettin’ dirty and gritty.
Thus spake the Lovin’ Spoonful in 1966.
Around here, it’s a series of open air concerts featuring some BIG NAMES – Knopfler, Dylan, Anastacia, Lionel Ritchie.
The venues are choice – the open space that used to be the container port on the Rhine, the grassed courtyard of the Zitadelle, a 17th C fortification on the Jakobsberg.
Took in 3 – Dylan (stunning), Hubert von Goisern, an Austrian troubadour I’ve seen a few times (good once he’d got past the metrognome songs) and John Hiatt (just wonderful) on Sunday.
Of course, it rained.
Of course, I got to sit behind the Incredible Hulk
John Hiatt! I’d love to see him perform.
Quite a mixture of music! We’ve got a number of music festivals to get us through the summer here, including a blues festival at the moment.
Sounds like a good time except for the bright umbrella. Did he share during the rain?
