It’s been a bit damp around here recently – I think the drains must have got blocked or something, because the Rhine went seriously over its banks last week. (This was today, after they unblocked it..)

Or maybe it was the rain.

Whatever.

But just look at this….THING.

Looks like something that Elon Musk had a hand in, but no, it’s a FLOATING EVENT location called the Oceandiva Nova with 2500m2 of space to frolic/cavort/frisk/gambol/scamper/romp/prance or whatever people get up to on a fully electrified 1/3 of soccer field that looks like something out of Jules Verne’s 20.000 Leagues Under The Sea

Quite a chequered history in its short life – supposed to charge up and down the Thames entertaining merchant bankers and their ilk but “challenges in navigating the complex web of regulatory and certification processes in the UK” forced a relocation to a less jobsworth regime in the Netherlands.

And here I was, just getting used to these stacks of solitary confinement modules piled on a barge that appears to be attractive to the boat people who wander around Mainz looking for things of interest…
