My general slackness in things City Daily Photo in recent times logically limits my choice of image, but this is close to the best.

(Runner-up has to be this post, not so much for the quality of the photography, but absolutely unbeatable for the sheer enjoyment of the occasion)
So
A cube with the logo of Mainzer Stadtwerke (municipal utilities and public transport) in front on the Weinlager. originally a wine warehouse (hence the name)built in 1910 and one of the few survivors on WW2 bombing in the area, but in recent years a veritable warren of small-ish manufacturers and service providers.
And in even more recent years, gutted and restored to something probably exceeding its former glory (the images below give you an idea), housing offices, apartments and shared work spaces.
And appropriately home to the offices of Verein Deutsche Pradikatsweingüter, VDP for short and representing a selected range of German quality vineyards.
Seriously good stuff.

This dates to post-2008 (opening of the Kunsthalle art museum, the turquoise tower bottom left) and shows the Weinlager in the quay bottom right and the layout of the inland port at the time.
And image below from around the same time

Everything industrial has been replaced by apartment blocks and the whole area is as flash as a rat with a gold tooth
