Depends….

Scratching my head about this one….

3 apartments above each other in a block at the bottom of the Gaugass.

AFD is pretty obvious – Alternative für Deutschland (Alternative for Germany), a hard right (sez The Economist) far-right, ethno-nationalist (sez Wikipedia) political party , currently a mere 2 percentage points behind the CDU (senior partner in the federal coalition) and 8pp ahead of the SPD (junior partner in aforementioned coalition and up until the elections last year senior partner in the previous tripartite coalition.

Germany’s domestic intelligence agency classified the party as a “confirmed right-wing extremist endeavour” and “suspected extremist party” and the sleuths are paying close attention to what’s happening. Started off as Eurosceptics, a bit to the right of the centre-conservative CDU, found out that the people they attracted were also xenophobes and- whooooosh – went full on in that direction.

(Someone asked on Reddit what German people think of the AfD.

A reply: The people who vote for them think they’re great, people who vote for democratic parties – I.e. all the other ones.. -think they’re shit and non-voters are ambivalent

So you’d hope that the folks living here also think that they’re shit and FCK is a appropriately typographically conforming abbreviation of FUCK with no space for THE.

The worry around these parts, though, is that the only electoral district (outside the Eastern states i.e ex-GDR to return an AfD result was Kaiserslautern, 75km to the southwest of Mainz.

Now Kaiserslautern has a 2nd Division football team, Fussball Club Kaiserslautern that’s abbreviated to FCK so these folk could perhaps be declared their affections for both club and party.

I’d knock on their door and ask, but being a foreigner and all, it might not end well…..
