Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you, dear window,
Happy Birthday to you
The first of Marc Chagall’s windows was installed and consecrated in the Stephanskirche at the top of the Gaustrasse 30 years ago today.
To my enduring shame, I had no idea at the time…..
>Gorgeous and yes shame on you. I wouldn’t have admitted it, so points for that.
>It is a gorgeous photo and window as well.
>To your enduring credit, you bring us a beautiful capture of it here!
>A beautiful window in a great capture!
>PS. Your caption mislead me; I thought that you were going to reveal your own birtday (in a clever way, of course). When is it, by the way?!
>Here I am commenting when I said I’d take a break, but this one I cannot resist! Chagall is a genius! When in Chicago I always visit the Art Institute because of the Chagall windows there, and I try to visit at different times of day because then the light plays differently on the glass. Now I just have to return to your blog to get my Chagall “fix.” Wonderful photo! Are there more than just this one? If so, a fervent request…post them all!!
