This is Nelson #894

So, here we are then.

Nelson dwarfed by the engine nacelle of the Q300 (that’s Meg & Ben down there somewhere… ) and the first compression of the oleo leg as the tyre kisses the runway.
And then it gets even better.
Mum with 3 littlies (4 through maybe 8) in the row in front and she says “Now, say thank you to the man (aka flight attendant) when we leave”
Dave Dobbyn’s singing “Welcome home” on the PA and as we go past the cockpit door, the captain’s unfolding himself from his seat so the littlies chime “Thank you” and the captain says “Do you want to see where I work?” and folds himself back into his seat and tell them to all squeeze into the cockpit and the littles do a unisono “Coo-ool”
And Robin and Steve Fullmer are there with their van and our CR V and a big bag of fruit and veg from Mr Todd, the market gardener, and then we pop over to Motueka for some grocery basics and bump into Matt Davidson, our neighbour’s boy who says “Pete, the guy who’s spraying my gorse, asked me the other day if I knew you”.
(Pete sprays our gorse, too..)
And then a beer at the Golden Bear micro brewer on Mapua wharf and fish and chips and local Sauvignon Blanc as the sun goes down

It’s good to be back
