>Fly the flag – #1058

Doesn’t get more hard-core Mainz than this.

The Jakobsbergstrasse at the end of the Augustinerstrasse is the home to Weinhaus zum Bacchus and Weinhaus Michel.

Michel is the classic wine bar, with the menu in dialect with the usual suspects – Spundekäs, Handkäs….

Bacchus (the name’s on the Protected Species list) houses Le Lavandin – provençal cuisine and a good range of German and French whites, rosés and reds.

Aren’t we lucky people, as John Whatley would say….

  1. >We had again some excellent Flammkuchen yesterday evening at Bacchus, but the flag is gone!

  2. >How many times have you staggered or maybe just teetered back and forth between the two JB? Love the angle on this one. V
