>Lydia’s Café – #1270

Date and orange scone
Given the current state of the housing market in New Zealand (a brief period of fiscal sanity and buyer reticence before the next feeding frenzy kicks in), I wouldn’t be surprised if Lydia Heyward was making more money from her café than from her real estate business.
She deserves to.
Seriously good espressos with a crema that you can rest a spoon on – I tell them that it’s as good as I’ve had anywhere, but they think I’m either having them on or trying to chat them up – , bakery goods (baked on the premises) that are superb and just the nicest people staffing it.
Traditional recipes with a sprinkling of zing.
Not at all “dated”, one could say……. (I’ll get my coat…)

  1. >Kate and Virginia and I will meet you there… looks delicious!

  2. >You are a real foodie, and I trust your judgment. The scone, which looks like a cup cake, must be fantastic. Nice comination: orange and dates…num!
