If you’re introducing a …um…revolutionary bike hire concept, why not brand it “Mainzigartig Mobil”?
You’ll find these yellow bikes dangling from their stands all over Mainz. Once you’ve registered, you can front up to the solar-powered display, wave your smart card, key in your PIN and you’re away, being charged in 30 minute increments until you dock back into a stand.
It’ll keep you fit, that’s for sure.
The bikes weigh a bloody TON……..

I got a card and I used them once in a while. You’re right they are very heavy and you can feel every hole or pebble on the street on it. But it’s a nice idea I think.
