Couldn’t let this one pass unannounced #1818

Monsignor Klaus Mayer, my luncheon companion of the other day, is having his 90th birthday celebrated for him in style with a concert in his honour in the Stephanskirche this evening.

Highly fitting for someone who has been recognised and honoured as one of only 47 Freemen of the city of Mainz,  a member of L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres au grade d’Officier de la Republique francaise, The Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany….the list goes on.
