Oh! You (Red (start))led me….#1921

This Black Redstart (Phoenicurus ochruros) chick took a breather on our garden furniture, much to the dismay of Mother who was chirping away and giving child a hurry-along.

Not surprising, considering the number of predators we have lurking around here….

Not up to Mr Lincoln’s standard, perhaps, but I’m still quite pleased with the result

    But why do they call them red*start* when they are red at the *end*?
