It’s a sad commentary on the times that orchardists are having to fence off their groves and risk being beaten up (happened the other week) if they challenge someone stripping their trees.
The people in Drais have a better idea – hire security with a heavy-duty name and let everybody know.
If you read The Economist, you’ll know who dominates the serious crime statistics in Germany.
And if you watched The Wire, you’d certainly make a big detour around anyone called Sergej, here being asked whether he or his gang was responsible for a killing.
So keep you hands off those cherries.
