Paul’s new assistant

Paul Bonna, proprietor of the ever-excellent kaffeekommune in the Gaustrasse (worth the climb…) obviously thinks – at the ripe old age of 25… – that opening 5 days a week from 10 until 6 is just too strenuous and has got help.

Meet Shirley, who makes just as good an espresso as Paul and is decidedly easier on the eyes. (Some would beg to differ…)

Asked about the background to her (obviously non-Teutonic) name, she proudly told me that her mother was a fan of Shirley McClaine.

And asked me if I knew who she was.

Obviously thinks I’m waaay too young to remember her…

  1. A lovely young miss who is easy on the eyes! I tried to see her necklace more clearly, but couldn’t quite make it out; do you know what it signifies?
