Jürgen Hofmann took over his Dad’s vineyard a way back and has developed it into one of the top addresses for wine in the region, if not nationally.
His wife, Caroline, comes from the Saar where her parents have a vineyard which she in turn took over.
They met at Geisenheim, Germany’s leading wine academy, married, had 2 kids and settled in a new house, vinotek and winery on the outskirts of Appemheim.
They had an open weekend a week back – sit around the courtyard, buy a glass of wine for next to nothing, eat really nice food from Thomas from Schloss Sörgenloch and listen to the band on Saturday evening.
Oh, and try all our wines – new and old vintages.- for free.
No one got greedy, no rowdyness, just people who enjoy drinking good wine working out what to buy
Here in Berlin we have a wine fest that runs from May to September on Rudesheimer Platz. It’s really nice and a good chance to try different “wine guts” from the Rhein region. I am sure this wine must also be good. It takes a lot of work to build and maintain a winery!
It takes a lot of work to build up the stamina to drink continuously from May to September….
Best “aerial” shot I’ve seen in ages!
