The reason that Klein-Winternheim has mass plantings of daffodils on the major access routes is because my late cousin Graham (died 2 years ago in his early 60s and it STILL pisses me off..) once lived in Pateley Bridge in Yorkshire where a local quarrying firm had paid for close to a mile of daffodil planting on a long descent into the village.
I suggested to our lady mayor that we did the same and made an event out of it – get folk to sponsor a metre (or 2. Or 10) and have the local kiddies sling in the bulbs.
Got a “meh” (despite the DM200 that I donated to kick it off) response, but a few years later, strips of daffs kept popping up.
So that’s OK then…..
Seems OK to me too.
I guess so.
