>Roll your own – #556

>

Back in the olden days, straw was gathered up into bundles.

Then along came the hay baler that crept across the harvested fields and produced manageable chunks of biomass.

Followed by the Mega hay baler that raced around the place at 30 km/h, extruding massively long bales from its rear orifice.

Now we’ve got the round baler that looks as if it’s laying truncated eggs as it trundles over the fields.

  1. >And, just how long did it take you to line these babies up?!

  2. >I’ve always wanted to take photos of these bales, but usually I’m whizzing down a freeway with no outlet to the fields of hay. Recently, however, I was at a riding stable and took a few shots. Not as good as this one, tho. There’s something fascinating about the perfect symmetry of the bales.

  3. >And it takes all the fun out of it… 😉
