What used to be….

IMG_7274

….the district military recruiting office in the Kapellenstrasse in Gonsenheim is now a medical centre, healing everything from ingrowing toenails to ER stuff.

Also the offices of Theo Plod…er Braunshausen, everyone’s favourite policeman who I popped in to see a couple of days back.

They’ve done a pretty flash job of doing the building up – instead of gutting it and squeezing in a lift (elevator, for our colonial cuzzies…), they built a glass conservatory on the front and put the lift/elevator there.

Which means that when you walk up the stairs (as one does..), you’re actually seeing the old facade of the building.

Such as this decorative star between the ground and first floors.

Or 1st and 2nd floors for our colonial cuzzies…
